Meet The Team of Family Care Wellness & Rehab

Introducing Claudia Paluch

Claudia Paluch graduated from Olympia College in 2004 and obtained her national certification shortly afterward. She is currently an active member of the Association of Bodywork and Massage Professionals (ABMP) and is licensed in the state of Illinois. Because of her passion for pain relief work, she continued her education and became one of a handful of certified PUSH therapist in 2005. PUSH therapy is a specialized form of muscle therapy that rids the body of chronic pain and tension. She continues to study and act as an assistant for PUSH trainings in Chicago and is actively pursuing certification as a PUSH instructor.

Claudia is married (21 years) with three children, ages 15, 9 and 6. She is very excited to be joining our team.

Introducing Janice Norvell-Spoelma

Janice Norvell-Spoelma Reiki Master Teacher, has been practicing Reiki since 1998. Janice taught Reiki for three years at the College of DuPage.

Janice founded a Reiki Share Group offering an opportunity for practitioners to develop their skills and sensitivity while performing energy work.

In conjunction with working with people, Janice will happily work with animals, both in giving Reiki sessions for the animals or in teaching people to work with their own animals. Janice also has experience in working with and teaching people in dog training (as well as her own business in decorating industry).

Reiki is not Janice’s only interest; she has developed workshops in other modalities, ear candling, balancing and grounding your energy. As time allows, Janice continually works with new information being made available through studies in order to offer the best classes possible.

For the past several years, Janice has coordinated the organization of the monthly Reiki volunteer group for Edwards Hospitals’ Cancer Center. Special projects at Edward Hospital also include the organization of volunteer staff for the once a year “Re-treat” for cancer survivors as well as the yearly “Heart Fair”.

Dr. Alan Asks some important questions of interest to Darien residents - Chiropractor Darien Dr. Alan Asks...

What's the difference between sick care and health care?
Sick care is largely about relieving or suppressing symptoms. Health care is about improving performance. While sick care is about how you feel, health care is about how you function. Sick care is what you do to treat an obvious problem, and health care is what you do to avoid the problem and advance your well-being.
What's the difference between maintenance, prevention and wellness?
Maintenance chiropractic care is an attempt to keep a dynamic, ever-changing and adapting organism (you) in a static relationship with your environment. Preventive chiropractic care is mostly about early detection. Wellness chiropractic care is an attempt to optimize our health and be all that you were designed to be.
