What is Kinesiology?
Kinesiology is a natural health care system which uses gentle muscle testing to evaluate many functions of the body in the structural, chemical, neurological, and biochemical.
Kinesiology is a neurological biofeedback system. It evaluates nutritional imbalances, musculature related to postural movement, acupuncture meridians, emotional stresses and body system reflexes. This is associated with the structural, emotional, spiritual, bio-chemical and other issues supporting homeostasis of the body/mind.
We believe that health is a manifestation of balance, both within the body itself and between the body and the external environment. When the body is internally balanced and in harmony with the external environment, energy flows smoothly throughout to nourish all organs and tissues. By using gentle muscle testing to evaluate many functions of the body in the structural, chemical, neurological, and biochemical realms we can detect imbalances and help to maintain health and protect against disease.
The Kinesiology system takes into account the total health picture and is focused on prevention and health enhancement. It educates and motivates the client as they progress into well-being.
Kinesiological muscle testing does not assess strength, but tests the integrity of the many factors that determine its response when called upon to contract.
Kinesiology testing does not diagnose disease, but helps detect where the imbalances in the body are, providing the practitioner with the direction as to how to determine treatment strategies.
Using massage, nutrition, and contact points, Kinesiology helps with the following:
- emotions and anxieties
- specific personal dietary intake and supplements for nutritional deficiencies
- structural imbalances and energy blocks
Kinesiology balances the whole person, which enhances health and well-being. Because good health helps ward off disease, kinesiology truly embodies preventative medicine.
Applied kinesiology can be used to identify a wide variety of health issues:
- Identify structural imbalances and muscle and joint problems
- Indicate organ dysfunction
- Identify vitamins and supplements needed to resolve a health condition
- Detect food allergies and sensitivities
- Identify emotional and hormonal imbalances
- Identify blocked or weak meridians and energy channels
How Does it Work?
Through muscle testing the therapist can identify precisely what is involved in any imbalance found such as:
- Nutritional deficiencies
- Hormonal imbalances
- Organ dysfunction
- Emotional upsets
- Food sensitivities and allergies
- Structural misalignments and weaknesses
- Blocked energy movement / meridians
What to Expect
Foods, nutrients or homeopathic samples, dilutions of chemicals, bacteria, parasites, etc - all of which are contained within glass vials - will be rested on the body surface, and the therapist will 'test' a large muscle a reaction to the product ... for toxicity and or allergy.
You will be asked to resist the therapist's pressure against an arm or leg. When you do so, the body knows whether the substance in the vial is needed, the source of a problem, or you are allergic to it and your muscle will be weak. It is possible to then pinpoint the exact source of the weakness and what nutrients or homeopathic products will help. This is through the Qi of the substance reacting with the patient. Sounds far-fetched? Have you heard of the study where people who lived close to high-power lines having a higher incidence of cancer?
Nothing in this process is painful - it is just your body letting you and the therapist know what is needed.
Kinesiology does not provide direct diagnosis. It identifies imbalances, and helps the therapist determine find out what will bring the body back into balance. For more information you can visit www.icakusa.com.
